During this uncertain time, we would like to reassure you that our goal at Dumfries Animal Hospital is to remain open and continue to provide veterinary care for your beloved pets. We are doing what we can to help keep you, our staff and our community safe. In response to the recent recommendations of the CDC, WHO and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), we are making some additional changes that will stay in affect as long as the recommendations are in place.

In order to limit the number of people in close contact, we are asking clients to not enter the building. We will now be conducting “curbside” service for appointments, medication and prescription food pick-ups until further notice.

*** All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier ***

*** We ask that anyone showing signs of illness remain at home***

When you arrive at the clinic, please give us a call. Please let us know what numbered spot you have parked in or the description of your vehicle and a staff member will be out to assist you.

FOR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS: A staff member will get a brief medical history over the phone first then come out and take your pet inside for the doctor to examine while you wait in your vehicle. The doctor will give you a call to go over exam findings and address any questions or concerns you may have. Currently, we are not accepting cash or checks. All payments will be taken over the phone.

We have resumed our boarding, grooming and elective surgery services.

FOR BOARDING & GROOMING CHECK INS: Please give us a call when you arrive. A staff member will get all information needed for your pet’s grooming appointment or boarding reservation over the phone. We will then come out to get your pet ( and any food/medication for boarding) and bring them inside.

We appreciate your understanding & flexibility while we navigate this dynamic and ever-changing situation. The wellness of you, your pets and our staff is our number one priority. We will continue to keep our clients updated via email and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Dumfries-Animal-Hospital-158957006691/).
