During this uncertain time, we would like to reassure you that our goal at Dumfries Animal Hospital is to remain open and continue to provide veterinary care for your beloved pets. We are doing what we can to help keep you, our staff and our community safe. In response to the recent recommendations of the CDC, WHO and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), we are making some additional changes that will stay in affect as long as the recommendations are in place.

In order to limit the number of people in close contact, we are asking clients to not enter the building. We will now be conducting “curbside” service for appointments, medication and prescription food pick-ups.

*** All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier ***

*** We ask that anyone showing signs of illness remain at home***

When you arrive at the clinic, please give us a call. Please let us know what numbered spot you have parked in or the description of your vehicle and a staff member will be out to assist you.

FOR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS: A staff member will get a brief medical history over the phone first then come out and take your pet inside for the doctor to examine while you wait in your vehicle. Once your pet has received their exam, vaccines or other tests, the doctor will either give you a call to go over the exam findings and answer any questions or concerns. Currently, we are not accepting cash or checks. All payments will be taken over the phone.

SURGERIES: In order to conserve medical supplies, we are no longer scheduling non-emergent surgeries such as spays & neuters. If you already have a surgery scheduled, your pet will be checked-in in the same matter as our medical appointments.

Due to the recommendation that Veterinary Clinics postpone all non-essential services, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all boarding and grooming until further notice.

We appreciate your understanding & flexibility while we navigate this dynamic and ever-changing situation. The wellness of you, your pets and our staff is our number one priority. We will continue to keep our clients updated via email and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Dumfries-Animal-Hospital-158957006691/).

Please do not hesitate to call (703) 221-1880) or email (dumfriesstaff@gmail.com) with any questions or concerns.

LOOKING FABULOUS WITH US!

Dumfries Animal Hospital Pet Grooming Services - Dumfries Virginia

Dumfries Animal Hospital offers professional grooming services 7 days a week! Scheduled Appointments are required. Your pet can be dropped off as early as 7:30 am Monday through Saturday and picked up as late as 8:00pm during the week.

To ensure your pet’s safety, we require all dogs be current on their Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella vaccines and cats to be current on their Rabies and Distemper vaccines prior to being admitted for grooming. If vaccinated at another facility, proof of vaccinations are required.

Because this pet grooming service is a part of our veterinary hospital, you can rest assured that, should any medical emergency arise while your pet is with us, he or she will have immediate access to professional veterinary staff.

Our grooming staff is 100{b6ea06aa2c47805be6c4f0bc1f0c5f433f276cb865c8ad6d7d1298046f1aa264} dedicated and passionate about providing a stress-free, gentle, and calm grooming experience for your pet. They will have constant access to fresh water and will be walked several times throughout the day.

Bath & Comb Out

Pets that do not require a haircut will receive a bath, anal gland expression, and blow dry. After each pet has been dried, the groomer will trim the nails and clean the ears. The groomer will complete your pampered pet’s grooming with a thorough brush out.

Specialty Cut or Shave

If your pet is in need of a specialty cut, shave down or clipping, they will first have a “rough cut” done by our groomers, followed by an anal gland expression and bath. Once dried, your pet will have their nails done, ears cleaned, and breed specific cut.

Flexible Solutions

Occasionally we are able to accommodate requests for a specific pick up time. Due to the number of pets scheduled each day, these special requests are limited and must be requested at the time the appointment is made. A good contact number is required so we may call you when your pet is ready to go home.

PLEASE NOTE: Prices may vary based upon the breed, condition and thickness of the coat. De-matting, undercoat removal and extra brushing fees may apply. Special Handling Fee may be added for behavior issues or extensive breed specific styling.
